Neiman Group Announces Reorganization
HARRISBURG (October 15, 2008) - As it moves into the final quarter of what is shaping up to be a record year, Neiman Group today announced a strategic reorganization to better position the agency for continued growth.
The move "reflects both our enthusiastic embrace of new trends in the advertising industry, and also our resolve to do what is necessary to continue to grow in a challenging economy," said agency CEO Tim Reeves.
The restructuring focuses on eliminating positions that are not generating sufficient value to the agency's clients and its own future growth, and using those resources to invest in higher-value positions and practice areas, Reeves said. The agency this week laid off eight employees, hired three new employees, and will hire four to six more over the remainder of the year at its offices in Harrisburg and Philadelphia.
"We made the very difficult decision this week to say goodbye to eight talented people," said Reeves. "But to keep the agency growing, we need to make tough decisions on positions that are no longer bringing sufficient value, so that we can invest in those that will. Because we are making these moves from a position of continued strength, we are able to give our departing employees severance packages that substantially exceed industry standards."
The advertising industry has been changing dynamically, and Neiman Group has embraced those changes. For instance, Neiman Group has added nine employees in the past 18 months in its interactive and strategic planning/research practices along with crisis management and public affairs. The new positions to be added yet this year will be focused in media planning, creative and new-business development.
"Despite the tough economy, we are growing revenue this year at a rate of more than 15 percent," said Reeves. "This will be a record year for Neiman Group. We continue to be blessed with the trust and confidence of wonderful clients such as Capital BlueCross, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Trex and many more. And we will honor that trust and confidence by continuing to do what we must to keep growing our capabilities to meet their changing needs."
