Neiman Group Selected by Ad Council to Create Business Preparedness Creative for Homeland Security Campaign
HARRISBURG, PA (November 19, 2007) - Neiman Group was selected by The Advertising Council to create the Ready Business public service advertising (PSA) campaign for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Ready Campaign. The national campaign, scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2008, will include radio, print, Internet advertising and outdoor.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on a campaign that will help businesses stay in business," said Jeff Odiorne, executive creative director and partner at Neiman Group. "The creative will target small business owners and encourage them to make a plan, so they can recover more quickly from a disaster."
First launched in September 2004, Ready Business is an extension of the successful Ready Campaign, designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies, which focuses specifically on business preparedness. The goal of Ready Business is to raise the business community's awareness of the need for emergency planning and motivate businesses to take action. The campaign encourages business owners and managers to: Plan to stay in business; talk to their employees; and protect their investment.
The primary objective of the campaign will be to drive business owners to visit www.ready.gov to learn how they can prepare their businesses for emergencies. Business owners can also call 1-800-BE-READY for free brochures and business-contingency plan templates.
"The Ready campaign is one of the most successful Ad Council campaigns in recent history," said Peggy Conlon, president and CEO of The Advertising Council. "We are incredibly grateful to the team at Neiman Group for donating their time and talent to create advertising that I am confident will have an impact on the business community."
As of September 30, 2007, the Ready Business effort has received more than $82.9 million in donated media support; its Web site has received more than 26.1 million hits and more than 2.1 million unique visitors; and more than 1.9 million Ready Business materials have been requested or downloaded from the Web site.
