Ad Agency President Elected to Allegheny College Board of Trustees

Board unanimously elects Tim Reeves to leadership position

HARRISBURG, PA (February 3, 2007) - Allegheny College, one of the nation's premiere liberal arts schools, today elected 1983 Phi Beta Kappa graduate Tim Reeves to its Board of Trustees. Reeves is president of Neiman Group, one of Pennsylvania's leading advertising and public-relations agencies.

“Allegheny College's Board of Trustees is one of the hardest working and most talented boards in higher education today, and we are delighted that Tim will become a member,” said Allegheny College President Richard J. Cook. “Tim's breadth and depth of experience has served him well, and we are fortunate that his alma mater will now so directly benefit from that expertise.”

Reeves was elected as a trustee by unanimous vote at the Winter board meeting and will serve a four-year term commencing October 2007. At 45, he is one of the youngest members of the Board of Trustees.

In addition to serving as President of Neiman Group, Reeves has a special passion for education, and works closely with the agency's education clients, including Edison Schools and Temple University.

“Allegheny is a truly great school, and it is a privilege to serve on its Board of Trustees,” said Reeves. “Allegheny College taught me to write well, to think critically, to work hard—and to enjoy life along the way. I hope the College will benefit from the educational insights I have gained from our clients. And I am certain our clients will benefit from the insights and experience I will gain serving on the Allegheny board,” Reeves said.

Reeves joined Neiman Group in November 2001 as one of its four shareholders and head of its Public Relations division. He became president of the agency in September 2004.

Prior to joining Neiman Group, Reeves served as Governor Tom Ridge's press secretary for seven years, making him the longest-serving gubernatorial press secretary in Pennsylvania history. For five of those years, Reeves also served as director of communications. Previously, Reeves was an award-winning journalist. He covered state government from Harrisburg as a reporter for both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Morning Call of Allentown. Reeves began his career as a reporter for the York Daily Record after graduating from Allegheny College in 1983. He has been an instructor in journalism and political science at Temple University and Penn State University.

Reeves also serves on the Board of Directors of WITF Inc., Central Pennsylvania's public-broadcasting organization. He is Vice Chair of the Board and serves on its Executive Committee, where he helped the organization to successfully complete its largest ever Capital Campaign, culminating in construction of a new $39 million Public Media Center.
